Healthy diets lead to healthy maintenance of teeth. It is vital to make sure that the food we consume does not harm our teeth in anyway. The kind of food substances that one must avoid to maintain a good set of teeth includes less starchy food, hard candies chewable toffees and other food that remain on the teeth even after one ends up finishing these food items.

These cause growth in bacterial activities leading to tooth decay. The tooth decay occurs when the harmful bacteria drills through the enamel and causes corrosion of the layers within. Eating food rich in calcium is also vital o maintaining a healthy set of teeth as this would ensure the proper deposition of calcium onto the teeth.  This would ensure the strengthening of the teeth and its longevity.

Food rich in Vitamin K include Liver, Egg yolk and milk products. Soya products are also rich in Vitamin K. A diet rich in cod liver oil has been found to be effective in preventing tooth decay. The best method to avoid diseases is by maintaining a rich diet of food sources which help in the prevent of tooth decay and by absorption of Vitamin K. Prevention is better than cure and for this to be implemented effectively one must take care of the teeth from the beginning itself.
